What our chauffeur service in London includes
When people search for a chauffeur service London offers, they usually want one of three things: a car at their disposal for a few hours, a clean airport transfer, or a long trip out of the city. We do all three, in cars from the Mercedes E-Class up to a 16-seat Sprinter minibus.
Every booking has the same basics. A professional driver, a car of the class you chose, a fixed price agreed before you book, and VAT included. There is no meter, so a traffic jam on the A40 does not change what you pay.
Our office is at 17 St Helen’s Pl, London EC3A 6DG, and our drivers work across the whole city and well beyond it. Back to the home page for an overview of everything we do.
Hourly chauffeur hire in London
Hourly hire is the heart of a chauffeur service. You book a car and driver for a block of hours, and the car stays with you.
- Minimum: 4 hours.
- Inside London: £60 an hour in an E-Class, £75 in an S-Class or V-Class, £95 in a Range Rover.
- Outside London (beyond the M25): £70, £85 and £105 an hour respectively.
The driver waits while you work. Typical uses are a day of meetings in the City and Canary Wharf, a shopping day on Bond Street and Knightsbridge, an evening at the theatre, or a family day with children and luggage. You can add stops as the day develops. The hours you use are the hours you pay for, and the four-hour minimum applies to every hourly booking.
How to choose between four hours and a full day
Four hours covers a long lunch and a meeting, or an afternoon of shopping. If you plan a full working day, tell us the hours when you request your quote and we price the whole block. Hourly hire outside London, for example a day in the Cotswolds, works the same way, at the outside-London rate.
Chauffeur cars: which one to book
Choose by passengers and luggage first, style second.
| Car | Passengers | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series | up to 3 | Business travel, one or two guests |
| Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7 Series | up to 3 | Executive and luxury chauffeur trips, more rear space |
| Mercedes V-Class or VW Transporter | up to 8 | Families, groups, lots of luggage |
| Range Rover | up to 4 | Country roads, a more upright seat, weekend trips |
| Mercedes Sprinter minibus | up to 16 | Groups, quoted on request |
For a group larger than 16, read our page on minibus and coach hire.
Executive and corporate chauffeur service
Companies and executives book us for client pick-ups, roadshows and airport runs. The S-Class suits a senior guest arriving at Heathrow; the V-Class suits a team of four to eight with luggage. A fixed price, VAT included, makes the cost easy to put through accounts.
For corporate bookings, send us the schedule with the pick-up times and addresses. We confirm the plan and the price before the day, so the journey itself needs no further conversation.
Airport transfers with a chauffeur
An airport transfer is a chauffeur service for a single journey. We publish fixed prices for Heathrow and Gatwick, which you can see on the prices page, and we quote other airports on request.
- Heathrow airport transfer
- Gatwick airport transfer
- Stansted airport transfer
- Luton airport transfer
- London City Airport transfer
The first hour of waiting on an airport pick-up is free. If your flight lands early or the baggage hall is slow, you do not pay for the wait within that first hour. For arrival procedures and terminal information, see the airport’s own site, for example gatwickairport.com.
Weddings, events and long-distance trips
A chauffeur service is also useful when the journey is part of the occasion. For couples and wedding guests see wedding car hire in London. For leisure days out, our guide to day trips from London by car covers the most requested destinations. Long-distance routes, Europe and other airports are quoted on request; we never apply a standard per-mile rate you cannot see.
What a typical chauffeur day looks like
A client lands at Heathrow in the morning and meets the driver in arrivals. The car goes to the hotel, waits while the client changes, and then runs to meetings in the City and a late lunch in Mayfair. In the evening the same driver takes the client to the theatre in the West End and back to the hotel. That is one hourly booking, planned around the day, with a single fixed price confirmed beforehand.
Another example is a family of five with luggage. They book a V-Class for the day, visit a few sights in central London, stop for lunch and return to the hotel without finding parking or splitting into two taxis. The driver knows the drop-off points, so you step out at the door.
How we plan your route
Before the day we agree the pick-up time, the address and the main stops. On the day, the driver follows the plan but adapts to what happens: a meeting that runs over, a restaurant that is full, a road closed for an event. You do not need to give directions, and you do not need to find parking, because the driver stays with the car.
For longer journeys, the driver plans breaks and tells you the likely arrival time. If you travel outside London, the hourly rate beyond the M25 applies, and we confirm it in the quote.
Why use a chauffeur rather than a taxi or app
A taxi or ride-hailing app is fine for a short hop. A chauffeur is better when the day has several stops, when you need a larger car, when you are travelling to an airport at a set time, or when you want the same driver for the whole journey. Transport for London publishes official guidance on licensed private hire at tfl.gov.uk, and the price you pay with us is the price we agreed in advance.
